The No. 6 prospect in the Mets organization, J.T. Ginn was terrific in his Cyclones debut. The 22-year-old faced two over the minimum through 5.0 innings before allowing a two-out, two-strike RBI double to Jacob Rhinesmith as his only blemish. Ginn allowed one run on five hits with no walks while striking out six.
Evy Ruibal entered the game in the ninth inning with the bases loaded and nobody out to earn the save, stranding the tying and go-ahead runs on base to win the game 5-4.
Luis Gonzalez doubled in a run and scored a second in the second inning as the Cyclones took a 2-0 lead over Wilmington starter Mitchell Parker.
Down 4-1 in the seventh, Omar Meregildo's two-run slam over the left-field wall pulled Wilmington to within one run at 4-3.
