
Volpe Homers in Renegades Loss to IronBirds

Garrett Stallings allowed three hits and no runs over five innings to earn his seventh win of the year as the Aberdeen IronBirds beat the Hudson Valley Renegades, 3-1, on Friday night at Leidos Field at Ripken Stadium.
Stallings (7-3) helped snap a six-game winning streak for the Renegades. Logan Gillaspie worked a scoreless ninth inning for his second save of the year.
Mitch Spence got the start and pitched well, allowing one earned run in 6.2 innings of work with eight strikeouts. He took the loss to fall to 3-2.
Anthony Volpe homered in the eighth for the lone Hudson Valley run.
The series continues on Saturday in Aberdeen.
