Gonzalo Higuaín Named to MLS Team of the Week

Inter Miami forward Gonzalo Higuaín has been named as a starter in the MLS Team of the Week presented by Audi for Week 5 of the 2021 season. The Argentine striker earned his spot on the team following his standout performance against FC Cincinnati in the opening match at the new TQL Stadium, in which he scored a brace to help Inter Miami clinch its second win on the road of the campaign by overcoming its Eastern Conference opponents 2-3.

This is the fourth consecutive week that an Inter Miami player features in the MLS Team of the Week; defender Nicolás Figal and midfielder Federico Higuaín were selected as starters for Week 2 after the the team's 1-2 victory over the Philadelphia Union on April 24, defender Ryan Shawcross was part of the starting XI for Week 3 after playing a crucial role in securing the team's first clean sheet of the season in the scoreless draw against Nashville on May 2 and winger Lewis Morgan was named to the bench for Week 4 after netting the equalizing goal against Atlanta United to tie the match 1-1 and earn Inter Miami a point at home on May 9.
