Everyone Back N for Nashville SC vs. Austin FC at Nissan Stadium on May 23
May 17, 2021 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
Nashville SC News Release
The Boys in Gold are set to play Major League Soccer's newest expansion side Austin FC at Nissan Stadium on Sunday, May 23 at 8:30 p.m. CT.
Here's why you should be there:
Near-Full Capacity - Nashville SC will return to an electric atmosphere in Music City to face off with Austin's Verde side. After Mayor John Cooper's recent reopening announcement, along with Major League Soccer's approval, fans will be allowed at a near-full capacity in Nissan Stadium. Nashville SC hasn't played in front of a full capacity crowd since its inaugural MLS match, so Nissan Stadium is bound to be rocking with excited fans ready to attend games once more.
"It City" Showdown - Nashville SC and Austin FC will be playing for more than just three points; it will be a classic southern throwdown between the 2020 expansion side and the 2021 expansion side. The Boys in Gold and Los Verdes will battle it out over the claim to be the South's "it city."
Quality Competition - Both teams have had successful starts to their season. Nashville SC remains one of only four unbeaten teams in the league this season and picked up a big win in a 2-0 victory over the New England Revolution on May 8. Austin FC is holding its own in the Western Conference with two wins and two losses on the season.
National TV Audience - This game will be the second of Nashville SC's season to be broadcast on national television. You could make an appearance on Fox Sports 1 decked out in gold and blue.
More to Come - We've already shared that country artist Michael Ray will be performing the national anthem in-stadium. This could be one of Nashville's best Matchday Lineup yet, but stay tuned to our channels for more updates on everything in store for an unforgettable match experience.
