Golden State Valkyries News Release
The Golden State Valkyries have unveiled initial plans for the team's two world-class facilities: the Valkyries Locker Room at Chase Center, and the Valkyries Practice Facility in Oakland. Construction is underway in both locations, with both facilities expected to be completed and open in early 2025 ahead of the Valkyries' inaugural WNBA season.
"The investment that Golden State has made into both the Valkyries Practice Facility in Oakland, and the locker room in San Francisco, underscores this organization's commitment to excellence," said Valkyries General Manager Ohemaa Nyanin. "Connecting both sides of the Bay with elite facilities will set the tone for our athletes, coaching staff and medical teams, as we build a roster that will compete for championships."
The Valkyries Locker Room at Chase Center encompasses 6,800-square feet of world-class amenities for the team on home game days. The V-shaped locker room reinforces core elements within the Valkyries brand, symbolizing the unity of Valkyries in flight. The space also includes a training room, hot and cold tubs, player lounge and dining areas, and separate offices for coaches, player development and medical staffs.
The Valkyries Practice Facility in Oakland will offer players and coaches full-time access to 31,800 square feet of training and development space. The state-of-the-art facility, located in the heart of Downtown Oakland, is inclusive of two full-size basketball courts, with additional court space, totaling 17 basketball hoops in the gym. The facility, which served as the headquarters of the Golden State Warriors from 1997-2019, boasts a locker room, weight room, training room, hot and cold pools, a dedicated player lounge and separate player and family lounge, all complete with world-class amenities across the facility.
