Goaltender Taylor Called up to AHL Syracuse

The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that goaltender Dan Taylor has been recalled by AHL affiliate Syracuse. Taylor returns to Syracuse after being assigned to Gwinnett on October 5. He appeared in one preseason game with Gwinnett, allowing six goals on 41 shots against Florida.

Taylor, a Plymouth, England native, was selected in the seventh round with the 221st pick by the Los Angeles Kings in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. He has appeared in 38 AHL since the 2006-07 season, compiling a 20-9-4 with record with a 2.50 goals against average, .909 save percentage and four shutouts. He appeared in one NHL game with the Kings in 2008.

The Gladiators open their 7th season in the ECHL on Saturday, October 17th and Sunday, October 18th against the Wheeling Nailers. The Gladiators are the AA affiliate of the Atlanta Thrashers and Columbus Blue Jackets and play all home games at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth.
