Reading Royals News Release
Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL today announced that a brand new promotion: "10 for $10,000" presented by Manderbach Ford will kick off on Opening Night, Thursday, October 14, 2009, when the Kalamazoo Wings visit the Sovereign Center to play their first game ever in the ECHL. Under the promotion, one lucky fan will be selected for every regular season home game for the Royals; and, if the Royals score at the 'dead on' ten minute mark (exactly 10:00 on the clock) of the second period, that fan will win $10,000. All fans have to do to enter the '10 for $10,000' contest is visit the Royals' website, click the appropriate icon and fill out the registration form. A fan's name will be randomly selected seventy-two hours before each home game. The Royals will contact the selected fan and provide two free tickets to the game at which that fan will be "playing". If the Royals bag a goal in that game at the 10 minute mark of the second period of play, that fan will 'bag' a big pay day. Please note that you must be at least eighteen years of age to play "10 for $10,000.00". For further rules, information and requirements, please see: www.royalshockey.com/promotions/TenForTenThousand.asp.
On opening night, the Royals will 'Blow the Roof Off' the Sovereign Center with a fun-filled celebration as the team faces the Kalamazoo Wings for the first time in history. To start, the Royals will give away a special Unleash the Roar t-shirt to the first 2500 fans in attendance tomorrow courtesy of Metro Bank. As previously announced, Opening Night this season will also serve as the debut for 'Thirsty Thursdays', when select draft beer at the Sovereign Center will be just $2.00. As with all Monday through Thursday games this season, Opening Night is also a WAWA Weekday, which means that fans can stop by any area WAWA and pick up a coupon for $5.00 off any ticket at the Sovereign Center other than the Super Saver. Also, WAWA Weekdays mean great food and beverage bargains at Royals' games, as hot dogs, nachos, popcorn, and soda all are just one dollar a piece.
Also on Opening Night, the Royals will unveil the team's new Game Night Program, which will be given free of charge to a minimum of 1500 fans at all thirty-six home games this year. In addition to containing several new features, the new Game Night Program will actually fold out to a 14" x 22" full color poster of a Royals' player. The player featured in the Game Night Program will be available at a specially designated location within the Sovereign Center after the game to sign his poster for thirty minutes, unless of course unforeseen circumstances outside the control of the Royals preclude the autograph session.
The Royals open the 2009-10 ECHL season on Thursday, October 15, 2009 (7:05 pm) when the Kalamazoo Wings make their first visit ever to the Sovereign Center in Reading, Pennsylvania. Season tickets for the 2009-10 season are currently available. To become a part of Royals' hockey, call 610-898-PUCK or log onto the Royals' website, www.royalshockey.com.
