
Idaho Releases Opening-Night Roster

Idaho Steelheads News Release
(Boise, ID) - The ECHL's Idaho Steelheads released its Opening-Night roster on Wednesday, featuring seven players who suited up for the team last season as well as Ketchum's Cody Lampl.
Lampl, whose family still lives in Ketchum, is one of six defensemen on the initial roster. There are two goaltenders and 12 forwards.
Goaltenders: Rejean Beauchemin and Richard Bachman
Defensemen: Cody Lampl, Guillaume Monast, Weston Tardy, Riley Weselowski, Kyle Radke, and Brendan Milnamow
Forwards: Marty Flichel, Matt McKnight, Brandan Kushniruk, Tyler Spurgeon, Mark Derlago, Mark McCutcheon, Ashton Rome, Evan Barlow, Adam Huxley, Mathieu Tousignant,, John Swanson, and Michael Neal
Beauchemin, Weselowski, Radke, Milnamow, Flichel, and McKnight all played in Idaho last season.
Head coach Derek Laxdal also announced his captain will once again be Marty Flichel. Ashton Rome and Tyler Spurgeon will be alternate captains.
Two players, defenseman Matt Sorteberg (who also played briefly in Idaho last season) and forward Michael Olson, will open the season on the 21-day injured list.
Opening Night is Friday night at Qwest Arena, when the Steelheads host the Stockton Lightning. It is Project Filter Schedule Magnet Giveaway night and the team will be on the ice for post-game autographs. It's also the first 4-for-$44 promotion of the season.
