Glasnow Dominates Bats, Tribe Rolls to 5-1 Win

September 6, 2015 - International League (IL1)
Indianapolis Indians News Release

LOUISVILLE -- Top prospect Tyler Glasnow hit a two-run double and worked into the eighth inning for the first time in his Triple-A career, helping lead the Indianapolis Indians (83-60) to a 5-1 victory over the Louisville Bats (63-80) Sunday night at Slugger Field.

With Columbus also winning Sunday evening, the International League West division title will now be decided in tomorrow's regular-season finale. The Indians will clinch as co-champions of the division with a victory tomorrow, and can claim the division outright with both a Tribe win and Columbus loss against Toledo.

Glasnow (2-1) rebounded from a defeat and five walks in his previous start at Columbus with eight strikeouts and no free passes tonight. The right-hander scattered six hits while facing more than four batters in an inning.

Gorkys Hernandez extended his hitting streak to seven games and drove home an insurance run in the seventh. He finished his night 2-for-4. Josh Bell added a two-run triple in the top of the ninth to salt the lead.
