Pigs Look to Even Series with Wings

September 6, 2015 - International League (IL1)
Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs will try to even their series with the Rochester Red Wings on Sunday afternoon. First pitch from Coca-Cola Park is slated for 1:35 p.m.

RHP Miguel Alfredo Gonzalez (0-1, 15.00) gets the ball for the Pigs on Sunday. The right-hander was tagged with the loss on Tuesday at Pawtucket when he allowed five runs on six hits to go along with a walk and two strikeouts in three innings of work. Gonzalez did not allow an earned run over 11.0 IP in his rehab assignment with the GCL Phillies (Rk.).

RHP Michael Bowden (10-5, 2.68) will be on the bump for manager Mike Quade's squad. Bowden was dealt the tough-luck loss on Tuesday vs. Scranton/Wilkes-Barre when he gave up two runs on four hits while walking two and fanning eight in 7.0 IP. With Norfolk earlier this season, the Winfield, Ill. native allowed just one hit over seven shutout innings against the Pigs on June 14 at Harbor Park.

Pigs OF Kelly Dugan extended his hitting streak to six games with a single on Saturday night. During the hitting streak, Dugan is hitting .381 (9-23)-0-1 with a double and two runs scored.

The first 3,000 fans 18 and older will receive a Rich Thompson Fan Vote t-shirt giveaway presented by AT&T. Thompson will also be available for a photo and autograph session during the game. Following the game, all kids 12 and under can run the bases thanks to Lehigh Valley Health Network.
