Pigs Drop Second Straight to Wings, 5-1

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs (63-80) dropped their second straight to the Rochester Red Wings (76-67) with a 5-1 loss on Sunday afternoon at Coca-Cola Park.

Rochester took a 3-0 lead with a three-run second as Argenis Diaz came through with an RBI double, Doug Bernier delivered an RBI single and a throwing error by Pigs SS Chase d'Arnaud allowed another run to score.

A two-run third opened up a 5-0 lead for the Red Wings when Bernier knocked home a run with an RBI single and Oswaldo Arcia grounded into a force out which brought home a run.

Pigs starter Miguel Alfredo Gonzalez (0-2) allowed the five runs (four earned) on six hits while walking three and fanning two in 2.2 IP.

The Pigs cut the lead to 5-1 with a run in the third as Gabriel Lino led off with a double, moved to third on a single and later scored on Kelly Dugan's RBI single.

The single extended Dugan's hitting streak to seven games.

Red Wings starter Michael Bowden (11-5) surrendered the one run on seven hits to go along with two walks and five strikeouts in 5.1 IP.

Tyler Pastornicky (3-5) had a multi-hit game for Lehigh Valley.

RHP Chris Leroux (5.1 IP, H, 2 BB, K) and LHP Ken Roberts (1.0 IP, H) each had a scoreless outing in relief for the Pigs.

The series and 2015 season wraps up on Monday at 1:35 p.m. from Coca-Cola Park. RHP Severino Gonzalez (2-6, 5.16) will be on the bump for the IronPigs against Rochester LHP Taylor Rogers (10-12, 4.07).
