DULUTH, Ga. - The Gwinnett Gladiators earned a 3-0 shutout win against the South Carolina Stingrays at the Arena at Gwinnett Center in front of 9,547 fans Saturday night. Gwinnett goaltender Louis Domingue earned his second shutout of the season with 24 saves.
The Gladiators (28-18-2-1) got on the board with a goal 8:09 into the first period from forward Justin Bowers. The marker came and he received a pass from Joey Haddad and stuffed the puck into the back of the net behind South Carolina goalie Ryan Zapolski. Alex Belzile picked up a helper on the goal.
Gwinnett padded its lead with two more goals in the third period. Casey Pierro-Zabotel picked up his fourteenth goal of the season 2:11 into the third. The marker came on a top-shelf snipe from the left faceoff circle after a nice feed from Bowers. Sacha Guimond also picked up an assist on the play.
Joey Haddad widened the margin of victory to three with a tally 4:08 into the period. Haddad ripped the puck past Zapolski after he skated around two Stingrays. Alex Belzile and Bowers both picked up the helpers.
Zapolski finished with 34 saves in a losing cause for South Carolina (23-23-1-3).
The Gladiators are next in action Wednesday February 6th in Trenton at 7:05 p.m.
