
Stingrays Fall to Gladiators 3-0

Duluth, GA - The South Carolina Stingrays (23-23-1-3) fell to the Gwinnett Gladiators (28-18-2-1) 3-0 at The Arena at Gwinnet Center Saturday evening, wrapping up a brief two-game road trip.
Gladiators forward Justin Bowers kicked off the scoring 8:09 into the first period tapping a pass from forward Joey Haddad past the right pad of Stingrays netminder Ryan Zapolski (L, 34 saves on 37 shots).
Forward Casey Pierro-Zabotel made it a 2-0 Gladiators lead on the power play at 2:11 of the final frame lifting a shot over the glove of Zapolski from the bottom of the right-wing circle. Haddad sealed the victory moments later with his sixth goal of the season at 4:08. Goaltender Louis Domingue recorded his second shutout of the season stopping all 25 Stingrays shots. The Stingray went 0-for-6 on the power play while the Gladiators went 1-for-5.
The Stingrays return to the North Charleston Coliseum on Friday, February 8 to host the Evansville IceMen for the first time in team history at 7:05 p.m. Friday is Nerd-Con featuring the Carolina Garrison! Characters from the classic move "Star Wars" will be walking the concourse.
