Atlanta Gladiators News Release
The Gwinnett Gladiators went 1-1-0-0 last week as they defeated the South Carolina Stingrays 2-1 on Sunday after they dropped a 2-1 decision on Saturday nigth to the Greenville Road Warrios. Saturday's loss to Greenville halted the Gladiators winning streak at eight games. The Gladiators maintain the number one spot in the South Division and the Eastern Conference with a record of 12-4-1-0 on the season.

Solar Bears Preview: The Orlando Solar Bears return to the Arena at Gwinnett Center for the second time this season.Orlando is led by Forward Olivier Fortier who has earned 16 points in 14 games as well as goalie John Curry, who has notched a .908 save percentage in 13 games played. The Solar Bears have won their last two games as they defeated the Kalamazoo Wings twice. Orlando has a record of 3-4-0-0 this season away from the Amway Center.

Saturday November 17: Greenville 2, Gwinnett 1-L
The Greenville Road Warriors defeated the Gwinnett Gladiators 2-1 at the Arena at Gwinnett Center and to end the Gladaitors eight game winning streak. Greenville's Brenden Connolly scored the first goal for Greenville in the second period giving them the lead. Rylan Galiardi tied the score at 1-1 in the second on the power play. Steven Delisle scored the game-winning goal for Road Warriors with only six seconds left into the third for the 2-1 victory.
Sunday November 18: Gwinnett 2, South Carolina 1-W
The Gladiators finished with weekend with a 2-1 win over the South Carolina Stingrays on Sunday afternoon. Rookie Christian Ouellet scored the first marker of the game for the Gladiators on the power play and gave the Gwinnett the lead. Forward Chris Clackson added to the lead as he scored 10:23 into the second and gave Gwinnett a 2-0 lead. Shawn Weller scored for South Carolina and snapped the shutout 12:39 into the second to cut the Gwinnett lead to 2-1.
News & Notes:
Power Play Goals: In the last the five games, the Gladiators have scored at least one power play goal in each of those games. The Gladiators have not allowed the opposing team to score on the man advantage in each of the last three games. The Gladiators have been shorthanded 19 times in the last five games and have had 27 power play opportunities in that span.
Alex Belzile: Rookie Alex Belzile made his debut appearance with the Gwinnett Gladiators on Sunday against the South Carolina Stingrays. Belzile had one shot attempt and got a minor tripping penalty. Before being signed to the Gladiators Belzile was signed with the Wheeling Nailers but did not skate in any games. Previously he played three season with the Rimouski Oceanic in the QMJHL.
Winning Patterns: The Gladiators have posted a 5-0-0-0 record on Sunday's this season.... they are 11-0-1-0 when scoring first in a game... after leading in the first period they have a record of 7-0-1-0... with a lead entering the third period, they have notched an 8-0-1-0 record on the year.
Upcoming Milestones: Andy Brandt is now three assists away from reaching his 100th assists for the Gladiators.... Kyle Lawson is four games away from his 100th ECHL game... Chris Clackson is six games away from playing his 100th game... Corey Fienhage is four games away fom his 50th Gladiators game... Joey Haddad is one point away from his 100th ECHL point... Justin Weller is looking for his first professional assist.
Casey Pierro-Zabotel: Casey Pierro-Zabotel has scored at least one point in each of the past five games with the Gladiators. In the past five games, Pierro-Zabotel has picked up two goals and four assists. So far this season, he has earned 24 points in 17 games and is ranked as the number three scorer in the league and is six goals away from reaching his 50th ECHL goal.
