
Gladiators Sign Marchesi

The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that Scott Marchesi has signed with the team. Marchesi joins the Gladiators following his senior season with the Sacred Heart University Pioneers in the NCAA.
In his four seasons with the Pioneers, Marchesi, a native of South Portland, Maine, played in 138 games tallying 51 points on 14 goals and 37 assists. He also compiled 202 total penalty minutes.
In the 2007-08 season, Marchesi played in 38 games tallying 2 goals and 9 assists for 11 points while compiling a +5 plus/minus rating and 62 penalty minutes.
Marchesi also helped lead the Pioneers to the AHA's Final Five. The 6-foot-2-inch defensemen also finished third among Pioneer defensemen in scoring.
Marchesi should be available for the Gladiators as they host the Florida Everblades on Thursday night.
The Gladiators continue their fifth anniversary season on Thursday, March 20th as they host the Florida Everblades at the Arena at Gwinnett Center at 7:05 p.m. Catch all the play-by-play action in Thursday's game online via Accessnorthga.com on Streaming Channel 3.
Celebrating its 20th Anniversary as the Premier 'AA' Hockey League in 2007-08, the ECHL began in 1988-89 with five teams in three states and has grown to be a coast-to-coast league that has 25 teams in 17 states and British Columbia in 2007-08. The 25 teams includes the Mississippi (Biloxi) Sea Wolves, who return after missing two seasons in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, and the expansion Elmira (N.Y.) Jackals. The ECHL will play 900 games beginning Oct. 18 and concluding Apr. 5.
