DULUTH, Ga. - Facing an opponent outside the familiar confines of the South Division for the first time in 2013-14, the Gwinnett Gladiators (6-12-0-0) defeated the Evansville IceMen (8-4-0-3), 3-0 at the Arena at Gwinnett Center Thursday night. Goaltender Louis Domingue picked up his first ECHL win of the seasonwith the shutout, making 39 saves.

After a fast paced, scoreless first period, Gwinnett had one of their best periods of the season in the second, registering a season-high 23 shots to Evansville's 16. Jeremie Malouin scored his first professional goal at the 12:13 mark when he had a turnaround shot to the slot deflect off the IceMen's Matt Lowry's skates and through goaltender Mike Clemente's legs. His fellow French Canadian teammates Philippe Halley and Jonathan Narbonne picked up assists on the play.

In the third, it was Kurtis Bartliff cashing in on a wide open net off the rebound to double up the Gladiators lead at 6:49. It was Bartliff's team-leading seventh goal of the season, but his lead was short lived as Evan Bloodoff tied him once again with his seventh goal of the season on the empty-netter at 18:35. Malouin picked up his second point of the night on Bartliff's goal - Marshall Everson also picked up an assist - while Kirill Tulupov had an assist on Bloodoff's goal.

Things boiled over at the end of the game when both sides brawled after the final whistle while the Gladiators were trying to celebrate. There were no game misconducts called on either side for the fracas.

The two squads will have to wait just 24 hours to settle their differences as they face off again Friday evening at 6:05 P.M. at the Arena at Gwinnett Center for the Black Friday Blackout Game. To purchase tickets, please visit www.gwinnettgladiators.com or call the front office at 707-497-5100.
