SF Bulls Give up Lead, Lose 5-2 to Bakersfield

SAN FRANCISCO - The San Francisco Bulls (5-11-1-1) failed to hold a third-period lead and lost 5-2 to the Bakersfield Condors (4-12-0-1), Wednesday night at the Cow Palace. Tyler Gron put the Bulls on top with his third goal in the past two games, but Bakersfield scored three times in a 1:10 of the third period to gain the edge and hold it.

Jordan Knackstedt got Bakersfield on the board first. He netted a goal off of a rebound past a sprawling Beskorowany. The score, 7:04 into the first period, made the game 1-0. Joel Broda had the lone assist.

The second period was thoroughly dominated by San Francisco. They wasted little time finding the equalizer 59 into the frame. Foster tipped a Dylan King point shot by Tyler Bunz. Chris Crane also earned a helper. Gron gave the Bulls their first lead when he scored on a one-timer from the left circle at 3:10. Brett Findlay and Collin Bowman had the assists. For the period, the Bulls held the edge in shots, 17-5.

In the third, the Condors came charging back. In the span of 1:10 they scored three times, giving Bakersfield a 4-2 lead. Ryan Watson scored one, and Broda scored two in a row. The Bulls kept the pressure up but couldn't make a second comeback. With 27 seconds left, the Condors scored an empty netter to finish off the win.

This weekend, San Francisco begins a five-game road trip. Their first stop will be the Utah Grizzlies this Friday. The game begins at 6:05pm.

Bulletins: Adrian Foster scored his first goal with the Bulls...Tyler Gron has scored in each of his first two games with the team......The Bulls and Condors tied in shots at 27.
