
Forward Jordan Owens Loaned to Hamilton of AHL

North Charleston, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays and Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Spencer Carbery announced today that forward Jordan Owens has been loaned to the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Owens, 27, is second on the Stingrays and tied for 11 in the ECHL with 17 points (7 goals, 10 assists) in 17 contests this season. The Toronto, Ontario, native attended training camp with the Bulldogs before joining the Stingrays. Last season, Owens recorded 13 goals and 18 assists for 31 points in 31 games with Soenderjyske in Denmark and helped the team capture the league championship with nine points (6 goals, 3 assists) in 16 postseason contests. Currently in his seventh professional season, Owens skated in 311 American Hockey League contests from 2007-12 with the Hartford Wolf Pack, Grand Rapids Griffins and Connecticut Whale totaling 111 points (37 goals, 74 assists) and 347 penalty minutes.
Prior to turning pro, the 6-foot, 180-pound forward played three seasons of junior hockey with the Mississauga IceDogs of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) acquiring 153 points (69 goals, 84 assists) in 192 games.

The Stingrays continue a six-game road trip tomorrow, Friday, November 29 against the Walleye at 7:15 p.m. at the Huntington Center and return to the North Charleston Coliseum on Saturday, December 14 to take on the Orlando Solar Bears at 7:05 p.m. on College Night and Teddy Bear Toss benefiting Debi's Kids.
The Stingrays will wear special Clemson University jerseys and auction them LIVE after the contest. Clemson alum and two-time Super Bowl Champion Jim Stuckey will drop the ceremonial first puck along with Charleston native and "Survivor: One World" finalist Chelsea Meissner. Bring a new or gently used stuffed animal to the game to throw on the ice after the Stingrays score their first goal for the annual Teddy Bear Toss!
