
Gladiators dump Lynx in Exhibition

Atlanta Gladiators News Release
The Gwinnett Gladiators used three third period goals and three second period goals en route to a 6-3 win over the Augusta Lynx Saturday night.
Louis Goulet opened the scoring 2:30 into the opening period on the power play as he put the puck just under the crossbar and beat Adam Munro. Shawn Weiman and Matt Dzieduszycki picked up the assists on the play.
Todd Bennett extended the Augusta lead to two goals as he picked up a rebound and slid the puck past Munro at the 1:59 mark of the second period for the unassisted goal.
Kris Goodjohn got the Gladiators on the board as he pushed the puck through a screen in front of the Augusta net and past goaltender Jason Saal. Jim Jackson and Wes Fox added the assists on the goal 6:10 in to the second period.
Mike Vigilante tied the game at two with a power play goal at the 13:08 mark of the period. J.P. O'Connor found Vigilante in the slot to set up the goal. Joe Bourne also added an assist on the play.
The Gladiators took a 3-2 lead with five minutes remaining in the period on a Chris Durno goal. Durno's slap shot, off a feed from Brandon Deitrich, from the slot beat Saal. Joe Bourne also picked up an assist on the power play goal.
Todd Nowicki tied the contest at three on a second effort in front of the net. Johnathan Gagnon and Shawn Weiman added the assists on the power play goal with 38 seconds remaining in the period.
The Gladiators took the lead for good on Goodjohn's second goal of the night at the 5:15 mark of the third period. Chris Durno and Wes Fox added the assists.
Steve Slonina gave the Gladiators a two goal lead as he beat Saal on a 2-on-1 break . J.P. O'Connor fed Slonina in the slot to set up the play at the 7:05 mark of the period.
Chris Durno rounded out the scoring as he beat Saal from the top of the right faceoff circle for the 6-3 lead. Paul Flache added the assist on the goal with five minutes in the contest.
Adam Munro made 16 saves during two periods of action while Ravi Tanna made 5 in the third period for the win. Gwinnett went 2-for-8 on the power play.
The Gladiators open the regular season next Saturday, October 18th in Charlotte to face the Checkers.
