
Wranglers Win First Game at the Orleans Arena

Las Vegas, NV- The Las Vegas Wranglers defeated the Bakersfield Condors 4-2 Friday night at the Orleans Arena. The Wranglers pick up their first win in the first ever game at the Orleans Arena. The Wranglers' offense was powered by Dave Cousineau and Justin Kelly who each scored a goal and added an assist. Goaltender Marc Magliarditi picked up the win in net stopping 32 Condors' shots. Las Vegas will complete their preseason on Saturday night with a trip to Bakersfield.
Bakersfield's Darren Shakato opened up the scoring with the first ever goal at the Orleans Arena, giving the Condors a 1-0 lead. Las Vegas countered just 1:12 into the second period when Cousineau scored the first Wranglers' goal tying the game 1-1. Las Vegas' Justin Kelly followed up at 15:43, tipping in a Mike McBain shot. Kelly's first as a Wrangler gave Las Vegas the 2-1 lead going into the final period. Wranglers' center Greg Day extended the lead 4:15 into the third period. Kelly set up Day on the shorthanded goal. After Bakersfield cut the lead to 3-2, Wranglers' winger Chris Kenady scored the final goal of the contest beating Bakersfield's Peter Hirsch for the 4-2 final.
The game featured 70 total penalty minutes between the two teams. Bakersfield finished 1-6 on the power play while Las Vegas was 1-1. The Condors out shot the Wranglers 34-24 for the game.
