Gladiators confirm 2007 roster

Las Vegas, NV, February 26, 2007 - In preparation for their season opener on Sunday, March 4th the Las Vegas Gladiators trimmed its roster for the 2007 Arena Football League season to below the league limit.
The roster breakdown by position follows (returning players in bold): Kicker (1) - Steve Azar; Quarterback (2) - Shaun King, Brian Jones; WR/DB (1) -Eddie Canonico; WR (4)- Joe Douglass; Thabiti Davis; Kevin Prentiss; Reggie Harrell; FB (1)- Joshua Rue; DB (3)- DJ Johnson; Earthwind Moreland; Vontez Duff; LB (2)- Sarth Benoit; Will Thompson OL (4)- Tupe Peko; Jimond Pugh; Konrad Dean; Carlos Joseph; DL (5)- Joe Crear; John Nix; Terrance Martin; Karon Riley; Khaleed Vaughn.
To get down below the AFL roster limit, the Gladiators waived QB Andy Hall, WR Brett Fischer, DB Sidney Haugabrook, FB Charles Stackhouse, OL Adrian Gonzalez, OL Lance Reynolds, DL Phil Hawkins, FB Nigel Eldridge, OL Victor Leyva, OL Zack Ville, WR Montiese Culton, WR Darrin Chiaverini, and FB Tony Newson.
In addition, FB Ben Moa, WR Dwight Ellick, WR Travis LaTendresse and DL Derrick Crawford were placed on IR.
The Gladiators open the 2007 campaign this Sunday, March 4th on the road against the Austin Wranglers. Kickoff is scheduled for 1pm PST and can be heard on ESPN Radio 920 in Las Vegas with John Hanson and Adam Grant to handle the call.
The Gladiators first home game will be Sunday, March 18th at 3pm at their new home, The Orleans Arena. Kickoff is slated for 3:00 p.m.
The Gladiators open their fifth season on the road against the Austin Wranglers on March 4th. Season tickets are on sale now and can be purchased by calling the Gladiators office at 702-731-4977 or logging onto www.lvgladiators.com.
