Turnovers Prove Deadly in Gladiators 63-48 Loss to Kats

The Las Vegas Gladiators suffered a disappointing 63-48 loss to the Nashville Kats at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Sunday June 10th. Two fumbles, an interception, and an unproductive third quarter hindered the Gladiators' hopes for their first win at home.
The Gladiators surpassed their opponents in overall yards with 329 to Nashville's 264 yards. Gladiators QB Nick Rolovich completed 24 of 35 pass attempts for 319 yards, four touchdowns and an interception. WR Travis LaTendresse led the receiving corps, with an outstanding 12 receptions for 205 yards and two touchdowns.
Down 35-28 at half time, a win was in reach for the Gladiators. However, an interception in the end zone and a fumble recovery by the Kats gave them a substantial third quarter lead. Kats defense were led by DB Chris Pointer with 7.5 tackles on the night and Defensive Player of the Game Ahmad Hawkins finished with an interception and three tackles.
Kats QB Jeff Smoker completed 18 of 24 pass attempts for 211 yards and three touchdowns, focusing his attention on WR Kenny Higgins. Higgins recorded eight receptions for 119 yards. WR CJ Johnson earned himself Ironman Player of the game with an astounding 123 yards in kick returns, two touchdowns and 41 yards in receptions.
