Dragons announce 2007 roster

The New York Dragons announced today a 23-man roster to kick off the 2007 regular season, including ten returning Dragons, four players with other AFL experience and nine rookies. Seven additional players were placed on the injured reserve and one on the practice squad.
Today marked the AFL's mandatory cut down date for teams to determine their regular season roster. League rules allow teams to carry a maximum of 24 players on their roster during the regular season. For every game, a minimum of 18 players and a maximum of 20 players will be declared active.
Familiar faces from the 2006 Dragons squad include, WR/LB's Chris Anthony, Maurice Brown and Mike Horacek, WR Kevin Swayne, OL/DL's Joe Laudano and Paul White, FB/LB Jeremiah Pharms and DB's Dahnel Singfield and Will Holder. Also returning to the Dragons is DB Billy Parker from the 2005 season.
The Dragons released DB's Chris Angel and Angel Estrada, OL/DL Geir Gudmundsen, LB Nick Rogers, DL Robert Branch, WR's Jermaine Jackson and Ryan Waller and FB's Brandon Isaiah and Mike Jemison.
