Vancouver Giants News Release

Vancouver, B.C. - The Vancouver Giants are proud to announce that the club has selected Radovan Bondra with the eighth overall pick in the 2015 CHL Import Draft.

"We obviously need size," said Giants Executive Vice President and General Manager Scott Bonner. "He's a player that has played against men. He's also played at the World Juniors and the Under 18s, so his hockey resume is very attractive, and the fact that he was drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks made picking him a logical choice."

Bondra, a 18-year-old Slovakian winger who is listed at 6'5", 220 lbs, was drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in the fifth round of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft last weekend at 151st overall. The native of Trebisov scored two goals and two assists in 15 games for HC Kosice in the Slovak Extraliga in the 2014/15 season. He also represented his country at the 2015 World Junior Hockey Championship
