Gerrad Grant Mooseheads' December Player of the Month

Eighteen-year-old centre Gerrad Grant is the Halifax Mooseheads "Citadel Halifax Hotel Player of the Month" for December, 2008, it was announced today.

Grant began the month on a high note by scoring the shootout winning goal in the Mooseheads' 3-2 victory over the Acadie-Bathurst Titan at Bathurst Dec. 05 and continued his strong play through eight games during the month.

Grant received the award from Head Coach Cam Russell at the team's monthly luncheon at the Citadel Halifax Hotel today.

At the same time, 18-year-old left winger Charles Bety received the "Scholastic Player of the Month" Award, awarded to the player who best combines talent, academic and general performance.

Bety, who scored two goals and added five assists in eight games last month, along with excellent school results, received the award from Mooseheads' Education Advisor Ross Thompson.
