BOUCHERVILLE, Tuesday, January 6, 2009 - The Drummondville Voltigeurs made waves this morning, acquiring all-star forward Chris DiDomenico from the Saint John Sea Dogs.

DiDomenico, fresh off his gold medal win with Team Canada yesterday at the World Junior Championship in Ottawa, joins an already potent Voltigeurs offence, which leads the League in goals with 197.

In return, the Sea Dogs obtain goaltender Simon Giroux (92-07-06), winger Mathieu Gingras (91-03-22), a first round pick in 2009 and a second round pick in 2010.

DiDomenico, a sixth round pick (164th overall) by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, registered 75 goals and added 129 assists in 166 games with the Sea Dogs over his three-year career.

Of note, the trade period ends on Thursday, January 8, at noon.
