George Dupont Named Assistant Coach

Pensacola, FL - The Pensacola Ice Pilots announced that George Dupont has been named assistant coach.

Dupont has been the head coach for the Milton Jr. Ice Hawks in the OPJHL the last three seasons posting a record of 83-32-6-1 earning a post season berth every year. He was the head coach of Tupelo in the WPHL for two seasons with a combine record of 77-48-16 reaching the playoffs both years.

During the 2000-2001 season, Dupont helped Tupelo win the Governor's Cup for the best record during the regular season with a record of 46-20-5 for 97 points. He also was the head coach for Pembroke in the CJHL.

During his playing career, Dupont played for New Mexico and Oklahoma City in the CHL. Bremerhaven in the GBL and the Canadian National Team. He also played at Acadia University, Truro in the NSSHL, Peterborough in the BPHL and with Pembroke and Nepean in the CJHL.

Dupont is 38 years old from Nepean, Ontario. His wife's name is Amy from Oklahoma City. George and Amy have three kids Danielle (6), Katherine (4) and Jake (2).

"We want to continue to make the Ice Pilots the best organization in the ECHL," said Ice Pilots Head Coach Rick Adduono. "George brings a lot of experience to the table and will be a big plus to the entire organization."
