
Genesis Jersey Auction Highlights Busy Week

Moline, IL- The Quad City Flames continue a stretch of seven games in ten days this week. The team visits Milwaukee for the final time on Tuesday to face the Admirals. On Wednesday, the Hamilton Bulldogs visit the i wireless Center for the first and only time during the 2007-08 regular season. Friday night, the Flames are back at the i wireless Center for the 13th Annual Genesis Jersey Auction. The event has raised over $500,000 for local charities. The week concludes on Sunday with a showdown vs. Grand Rapids.
Last week, the Flames went 2-1-0-0. The week began with a road shootout win over the Rockford IceHogs. Eric Nystrom, David Van der Gulik and Warren Peters scored in the win. On Saturday night, the Flames suffered a 4-2 setback to San Antonio. The team bounced back to earn a 3-2 shootout win over the Rampage on Sunday with Nystrom striking for both regulation goals.

Road Game Viewing Party at Bleacher Bums in Davenport and Parkside Grill and Lounge in Moline
Tuesday, February 19th vs. Milwaukee at 7:00 p.m.
The Flames invite fans to follow the team on the road via b2 Viewing Parties at Bleacher Bums in Davenport or Parkside Grill and Lounge in Moline. Drink specials will be offered at both locations. Fans in attendance at Bleacher Bums can purchase $5 domestic pitchers or buckets of beer for $12. Bleacher Bums is located at 3811 N. Harrison Street in Davenport, across the street from Lujack's. Parkside Grill and Lounge is located at 2307 5th Avenue in Moline.

2008 Genesis Jersey Auction
Friday, February 22nd vs. Peoria at 7:05 p.m.
A Quad City tradition continues on Friday night as the Flames host the 2008 Genesis Jersey Auction. The team will wear special jerseys for Friday's game only. Following the game vs. Peoria, the team will auction off the jerseys to benefit the Genesis Compassion Fund, which raises money for many causes with a focus on providing flu shots for children in area schools.
Post-Game Skate
Sunday, February 24th vs. Grand Rapids at 5:05 p.m.
Fans are invited to join the Flames on the ice for a post-game skate following Sunday's game vs. the Grand Rapids Griffins.
Flames Forum at The Blackbear Lounge at The Lodge
Monday, February 25th at 6:00 p.m.
The Flames return to The Blackbear Lounge at The Lodge next Monday at 6:00 p.m. Assistant Coach Scott Allen, goaltender Curtis McElhinney and forwards David Van der Gulik and Tomi Maki will join host Aaron Roof. The show can also be heard on 93.9 FM WYEC.

The defending Calder Cup Champions make their lone visit of the 2007-08 regular season on Wednesday night. The Bulldogs are one of six teams, including the Flames, that are battling for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference.

The Rivermen make their final visit on Friday night. Quad City is 3-1-0-1 in their last five games vs. Peoria.

The Flames face Grand Rapids for the final time on Sunday afternoon. Quad City has won each of the first three meetings with the Griffins.

Flames On WYEC 93.9 FM
The Flames game broadcasts can be heard on FM radio as 93.9 FM WYEC will carry all 80 games, all playoff appearances and the Flames weekly radio show. This week's games will be preceded by the Hayman's Ace Hardware Pre-Game Show beginning 25 minutes prior to face-off. After the game, stay tuned for the Kinetic Fitness Post-Game Show. The Flames Forum returns to the air tonight at 6:00 p.m.

Friday, February 15th - Quad City Flames 4 at Rockford IceHogs 3 Shootout
The Flames ran their unbeaten streak to four games with a 4-3 shootout win over Rockford on Friday night at The Metrocentre. Eric Nystrom, David Van der Gulik and Warren Peters scored in regulation for the Flames. Curtis McElhinney was spectacular in net stopping 34 Rockford shots including 16 in the third period. McElhinney was also spotless in the shootout as he stopped all four shooters he faced. With the win, Quad City improves to 4-1-0-1 vs. Rockford this year. Eric Nystrom scored the only goal of the opening period when he converted on a goalmouth scramble during a Flames power-play at 8:40 of the opening frame. Grant Stevenson and Krys Kolanos earned assists on Nystrom's marker. In the second period, Rockford tied the game on a power-play goal by Bryan Bickell. Bickell scored on a blast from just above the right wing circle. The Flames answered Bickell's tally in less than three minutes. David Van der Gulik scored a shorthanded goal of the second consecutive game when he beat Wade Flaherty following an IceHogs turnover. Rockford's Danny Richmond netted the final goal of the period with 2:48 left. Richmond converted on a feed from Jack Skille and Derek Nesbitt. Richmond's tally tied the game at two after 40 minutes. The teams traded third period markers to force the overtime. Colin Fraser netted his 14th goal of the season to give the Hogs a lead for the first time. Warren Peters answered that goal to tie the game at three. Peters scored on a breakaway after receiving a pass from Brandon Prust when Peters exited the penalty box following a minor penalty.
After a scoreless overtime, Curtis McElhinney stopped all four shooters he faced in the shootout while Carsen Germyn and Adam Pardy scored in the extra session for Quad City.
Saturday, February 16th - San Antonio Rampage 4 at Quad City Flames 2
The Flames four-game unbeaten streak was snapped on Saturday night with a 4-2 loss to San Antonio. The Flames fell behind 3-0 before power-play goals by Adam Pardy and Carsen Germyn sliced the lead to one. A late empty netter provided the final margin for the Rampage as Quad City fell to 25-21-2-6 on the season. Ryan Caldwell scored the only goal of the first period as he converted during a 5-on-3 Rampage power play. Caldwell scored from the right wing circle on assists from Bryan Helmer and Matt Murley. The Rampage expanded their lead to 3-0 on power-play markers by Jon DiSalvatore and Chris Durno. DiSalvatore scored on a goalmouth scramble while Durno earned his marker with a shot from an off angle. The Flames outshot San Antonio 19-6 in the middle frame before finally breaking through for their first goal of the night during the period's final minute. Adam Pardy scored on a rebound opportunity during a Flames man advantage. Pardy's goal game at the tail end of a five-minute major penalty again San Antonio enforcer Pete Vandermeer. Pardy's late second period goal was assisted by Warren Peters and Cam Cunning. The Flames pulled to within one goal early in the third period when Carsen Germyn netted his 10th goal of the year. With the tally, Germyn became the fifth Flame this season to reach double digits in goals. His goal also unleashed a furious push to tie the game. Despite a late power play, the Flames weren't able to net the equalizer before San Antonio's Bill Thomas scored into an empty net as time expired to set the final at 4-2.
Sunday, February 17th - San Antonio Rampage 2 at Quad City Flames 3 Shootout
Eric Nystrom scored two goals as the Flames topped San Antonio 3-2 in a shootout on Sunday afternoon at the i wireless Center. The two-goal output marked Nystrom's first multiple goal game as a Flame while the victory pushed the Flames season record to 26-21-2-6. A penalty filled opening frame produced two power-play goals. Eric Nystrom scored on a chance from the doorstep of the San Antonio crease. Krys Kolanos earned the primary assist on Nystrom's goal to extend his scoring streak to five games. The Rampage answered at the 13:54 mark of the period when Bryan Helmer scored a power-play goal on a shot from the left wing point. The teams skated scoreless through the remainder of the frame while accumulating a combined 68 penalty minutes on three fights, two misconducts and nine minor penalties. Brendan Bell scored the only goal of the middle frame to give San Antonio a 2-1 edge after 40 minutes. The Rampage outshot Quad City 17-12 in the middle period, but didn't score until their final shot of the frame. Bell escaped the penalty box and took an outlet pass from Jon DiSalvatore. He skated into the zone and beat Flames netminder Matt Keetley for his sixth goal of the year. Nystrom struck again in the third period when he netted the game-tying goal with 10:44 left in regulation. Nystrom scored on a delayed penalty for his first multiple goal game as a Flame. After an exciting but scoreless overtime period, the Flames headed to a shootout for the 15th time this year. Carsen Germyn netted the only shootout goal while Matt Keetley stopped all five shooters he faced. With the win, Quad City improved to 9-6 this year in shootouts.
