Flint Generals News Release
FLINT, MI - The Flint Generals of the United Hockey League announce the signing of two more players, bringing the total number of signed players to eight. The two newest Generals are defenseman Dion Hyman and goaltender Eric Pfligler.
Hyman, a 25 year-old native of Prince Albert, SASK, has played four years of professional hockey, mostly in the Central Hockey League. He began his professional career with the Laredo Bucks where he won a championship in 2004. Hyman has played as high as the American Hockey League, seeing some action with San Antonio in 2005.
Pfligler will begin his first season of professional hockey after six years in junior hockey. Pfligler, 21, a native of Palatine, IL, played last season for the Chicago Steel of the USHL. At the end of last season he made his professional debut, appearing in three games for the Odessa Jackalopes of the CHL.
"By signing Hyman and Pfligler we have filled a couple of important roles on our team." said Flint General Manager Al Sims. "Hyman is big, strong, physical defenseman, something we will need this season. And Pfligler is a young, talented goaltender who will have an opportunity to learn the professional game playing with Jason Muzzatti. As an organization, we are very pleased the way the Generals are coming together this season."
The Generals open their 2006-07 season against the Port Huron Flags on Friday, October 13, at Perani Arena. Season tickets are on sale now through TicketMaster or by calling the Perani Arena & Event Center at (810) 744-0580. All kids age 12 and under receive free season tickets with the purchase of an adult season ticket package.
