Garcia Extends Hitting Streak to 16-Games in 12-4 Loss

The Akron RubberDucks scored four in the fourth and five in the fifth on their way to an 12-4 win over the Harrisburg Senators Tuesday night at FNB Field. Akron took a 4-0 lead in the fourth before the Sens scored three times in the bottom of the fourth. Akron then tallied five in the fifth to take control of the game. Wilson Garcia doubled in the fourth to extend his hitting streak to 16-games.

Tim Cate went three scoreless innings before running into trouble in the fourth. He allowed four runs in the fourth inning on a walk and three hits. He was lifted in the fifth after giving up four more runs. Reid Schaller followed and went 1.2 innings allowing two runs on four hits. Francys Peguero finished the game, going three innings and allowing two runs, one earned.

Garcia had three hits in the game, two singles along with the double and an RBI. Andrew Young had two hits, drove in a run, and scored a run.

Akron leads the season series eight to five. With the win, the RubberDucks moved to four games behind Erie. The teams combined to go 10-for-18 with runners in scoring position.
