Mavs Minutes
The Final Meeting
Today's game is the final meeting between KC and Quad City, which announced that the team will cease operations at the conclusion of the 2017-18 season. The Mavericks own the all-time series against Quad City, entering today's contest with an overall record of 45-24-3-5 and 41-24-3-5 in the regular season. The Mavericks have won three of five meetings on the year.
A Key Game
Two points in today's game loom large as the Mallards enter on a seven-game skid, having gone 0-7 in the month of March and have lost nine of the team's last 10 games. With 10 games remaining in the season and down two points in the standings to Kalamazoo, today's game is a must-win for the Mavericks.
VanWormer's Career Night
Forward Jared VanWormer continued his impressive season by matching his career best with three points in the Mavericks' game on Friday at Tulsa. The winger netted a goal and added two assists in the contest, bringing his season total to 31 points on the year with 15 goals and 16 assists.
Parsons Returns
Goalie Tyler Parsons returned to Kansas City yesterday, reassigned by the Calgary Flames to the Mavericks. Parsons, a 2016 second-round pick in the NHL Draft, had spent more than a month with the AHL's Stockton Heat. The netminder owns an 11-10-0-0 record in the ECHL on the year with a 3.06 GAA and .905 SVP.
Saturday's Game Rescheduled
Last night's Fan Appreciation Night game against Tulsa was rescheduled to Monday, April 2 due to travel issues for the visiting Oilers. Tickets purchased for Saturday's game will be honored on the Monday date, the second-to-last home game for KC in the regular season. Refunds of the tickets are also available for those who wish to request their money back. More information on last night's postponement is available here.
