
Game Suspended Sunday Due to Rain

Stephen Branca has played at first, second, third and left field so far this year for the GreenJackets. But Sunday night, Branca added another position to his resume - pitcher.
"Ãâ¹With the scored tied 7-7 heading into the bottom of the 13th at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park, the GreenJackets turned toBranca to take the mound. Branca didn't disappoint.
The position player pitched a scoreless inning, while giving up just one run and recording a strikeout. But shortly afterBranca's pitching debut, the game was suspended due to rainand no winner was decided.
The GreenJackets wasn't the only team to use a position player on the mound during Sunday's extra-inning game. In the top of the 13th, Charleston's left field Danny Oh came in to pitch a scoreless inning with one walk and one strikeout.
Augusta jumped out to an early 5-0 lead on Sunday. AfterTravious Relaford scored in the first, the GreenJackets put up four runs on four hits in the second.
The inning started with a walk from Chuckie Jones. Trevor Brown then moved Jones over when he grounded out to second. Left fielder Andrew Cain drove in Jones on a line-drive doubleto left field, and Cain scored next making it 3-0 Augusta when catcher Brad Moss singled to right field.
The final two runs of the inning came when Jesus Galindo drove in Moss on a double to center and then scored when Matt Duffy singled to shortstop.
Despite the early lead, the RiverDogs tied it up at 7 by scoring three runs in the bottom of the seventh.
The game will be made up on June 13 in Charleston where it will resume in the top of the 14th inning, and the alreadyscheduled nine inning game will follow.
The GreenJackets return home Monday where they will face the Lexington Legends for their second series of the season.
