Hickory Crawdads News Release
HICKORY, NC - Coming off a 2-game split with the rival Kannapolis Intimidators, the Crawdads continue their seven game road trip with a 3-game series in Asheville against the Tourists. The 'Dads are looking for their first series win of the young season.
Following their road trip, the Crawdads will return home for a 4-game series with the Charleston RiverDogs this Thursday - Sunday!

1B Preston Beck called up to High-A Myrtle Beach
The Hickory Crawdads lost their first 2013 player to a promotion Saturday morning, as outfielder/first baseman Preston Beck was sent to High-A Myrtle Beach. In exchange, the Crawdads added RHP Cody Kendall to the 25-man roster.
Beck, who played primarily at first for the 'Dads, was 8-24 (.333) with two doubles, five walks and four strikeouts in eight games for Hickory. The 5th Round pick in the 2012 June Draft, Beck's departure leaves just 11 position players on the Crawdads active roster.
Kendall, 23, spent 2012 in short-season Spokane where he went 3-5 with a 2.31 ERA in 19 appearances out of the bullpen. An eighth round pick in the 2012 June Draft out of Fresno St., Kendall joins the 'Dads in time for their 10th game of the year against the Kannapolis Intimidators.

-Hickory is tied for 2nd in the SAL with 12 double plays turned
-The 'Dads are 3rd in the league with 11 home runs
-The Crawdads have 10 stolen bases while being caught just once, the highest success rate in the SAL
-RHP Tyler Smith is tied for the SAL Lead with a 0.00 ERA over 9.1 innings.
-Smith also boasts the 4th lowest opponents average at .125
-1B Preston Beck placed 3rd in the SAL in OBP at .467 before his promotion.
-C Jorge Alfaro is currently riding a team high 7-game hit streak that dates back to April 7th.
-INF Ryan Rua leads the 'Dads with 8 RBI while batting a team high .333 with runners in scoring position.
