
GAME RECAP: Mad Ants Fall at Home to Canton, 117-99

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Canton Charge defeated the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, 117-99, at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum on Friday night in front of a crowd of 2,902. Isaac Hamilton and JaCorey Williams led the Charge with 23 and 22 points each. Williams finished with a season-high 17 rebounds to tally his 13th double-double on the season.
Despite only having nine players available, Canton finished with six players in double figures, including all five starters and Gerald Beverly off the bench. Beverly ended the night shooting a perfect 7-of-7 from the floor.
Scoochie Smith contributed a game-high 11 assists for a double-double as well.
Canton began to pull away from Fort Wayne entering the fourth quarter with a seven-point lead already intact. A 15-7 run aided in the Charge extending the lead to as large as 19 in the final quarter.
Friday night was the first win for the Charge this season against the leaders in the central division.
Fort Wayne enters Saturday night's matchup with the Erie Bayhawks trying to halt a losing skid consisting of dropping five of the last six contests.
Jarrod Uthoff led Fort Wayne with 16 points on 7-of-14 shooting. Stephan Hicks and Ben Moore each recorded double-double efforts on the night with 15 points and 10 rebounds as well as Moore off the bench with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Jamil Wilson, who made his first start of the season with Fort Wayne, finished with 13 points.
In his first game back with the Mad Ants since playing with the New Orleans Pelicans, Walt Lemon Jr. ended the night with 15 points and a team-high five assists.
Canton returns to action tomorrow night as well as they welcome Wisconsin. The Mad Ants and Bayhawks will tip off at 7 p.m. tomorrow in Fort Wayne on Eleven Sports.
