Our 10th Annual Pink in the Rink, presented by Trident Health is TONIGHT and will honor those impacted by breast cancer and will benefit Share our Suzy. The Stingrays are wearing pink accented jerseys, skating on pink ice and hosting a post-game jersey auction with proceeds going to Share our Suzy. The pink accented jerseys feature the names of over 50 breast cancer survivors on them.

THE MATCHUP

The South Carolina Stingrays meet the Adirondack Thunder for the third time this season. Both previous meetings were played in Adirondack on January 8-9, and the Rays won 5-1 in the first of those meetings. South Carolina is coming off a 4-2 win last night at Atlanta. Joey Leach scored twice to lead the Stingrays to a comeback win in the third period. With the win, the Stingrays have pulled into a tie for the top spot in the South Division with 72 points. The Thunder claimed an overtime win last night in Norfolk.

MACLEAN RETURNS TO SOUTH CAROLINA

The battle behind the benches tonight features a pair of former Stingrays greats on and off the ice. Adirondack Head Coach Cail MacLean played three seasons with the Stingrays from 2005-2008, scoring 63 goals and 63 assists in 169 career games. He moved behind the bench as an Assistant Coach in 2008-2009, and served as the Head Coach from 2009-2011. South Carolina Head Coach Spencer Carbery played for MacLean from 2008-2010, and served as an assistant coach on MacLean's staff during the 2010-2011 season. Following MacLean's departure to the Abbotsford Heat, Carbery was named South Carolina's Head Coach.

COMEBACK KIDS

Last night, South Carolina earned a 4-2 win at Atlanta. The victory was the club's first win when trailing after the second period. South Carolina scored three goals in the third period, including the winning tally from defenseman Joey Leach. South Carolina is now 1-13-1-1 when trailing after two periods.

WINNING IN SPECIALTY JERSEYS

The Stingrays are wearing special pink accented Pink in the Rink jerseys this evening. This season, the Stingrays are 3-0-0-0 when wearing specialty jerseys. South Carolina beat Reading 2-1 on Opening Night while wearing a Charleston Strong jersey, topped Greenville 5-1 on Hockey Heroes for Epilepsy Night in December, and beat Florida 8-1 in February on Military Appreciation Night.

DEPENDABLE DEKANICH

February was kind to Stingrays goaltender Mark Dekanich. Of the nine contests Dekanich has appeared in during February, he had a 6-2-0-0 record with a 1.33 goals-against average and a .933 save percentage. He currently stands at fifth in goaltending leaders with a 2.10 goals-against average and .927 save-percentage. Dekanich's standout performance in the month of February came in a 4-3 overtime win against Greenville where he made 42 saves.

CAMERON IS ROOKIE OF MONTH

Brett Cameron was named the CCM ECHL Rookie of the Month for February. Cameron, 25, posted 16 points (eight goals, eight assists) in 13 games during the month of February. Cameron collected a point in nine straight games from February 5-20, and posted points in 10 games during February.
