Notes/Storylines ***The Curve offense will look to break out of its six-game slump tonight. After batting .351 in the first four games of the season, Curve hitters have hit just .181 (31-for-171) with five extra-base hits over the last six games. Altoona has managed just six runs during that span and has been shutout three times ***RHP Ian Snell will look to rebound from his first career Double-A loss suffered last Wednesday in game two of a doubleheader vs. Norwich (AA-Giants). Despite getting saddled with the loss, Snell allowed just one earned run in his 5.0 innings of work. For the season, the Pirates' 40-man roster pitcher has allowed just that one run in 10.0 innings. ***The Curve will be facing a talented trio of Bowie pitchers during this three-game series. Tonight's starter, RHP John Maine, is rated the Orioles' #2 prospect by Baseball America and is off to a solid start going 1-0 and allowing just one earned run in his first 9.2 IP. Last season, Maine led all minor league pitchers with 185 strikeouts between Delmarva (A) and Frederick (A) and also led all minor league hurlers by holding his opponents to just a .177 average. Tuesday, the Curve will face Orioles' #5 prospect, RHP Denny Bautista, and Wednesday the Baysox will send RHP Dave Crouthers, the O's #10 prospect. ***Altoona will send LHP Mike Connolly (1-1, 9.00) to the mound Tuesday night at 6:35 and right-hander Bobby Bradley (0-0, 3.27) on Wednesday morning at 10:35 a.m.
