New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release
Manchester, NH - The New Hampshire Fisher Cats broke out of their collective hitting slump to bombard the Norwich Navigators, 8-2, Monday night at Gill Stadium. 2B Dominic Rich went 3-for-4 with a HR, a double, a single and 3 RBIs to support RHP Cameron Reimers' 2nd win of the season. Rich extended his season-long hitting streak to nine games.
The Fishers (6-3) banged out season highs of 8 runs and 12 hits. In addition to Rich's HR and double, New Hampshire had five additional extra-base hits. C Paul Chiaffredo, DH Matt Logan, SS Aaron Hill and 3B Danny Solano all had doubles, while CF Tyrell Godwin stroked a two-run triple. That was enough for Reimers (6 IP, 2 R, 5 H, 2 BB, 2 K) to improve to 2-0. RHP Chris Begg (1-1) took the loss for Norwich (5-4), which had its 3-game winning streak halted.
RHPs Jordan DeJong and Kevin Frederick closed out the victory with 3 scoreless innings of relief.
RHP Dustin McGowan (2-0, 0.82) makes his third start Tuesday night against Norwich LHP Josh Habel (0-1, 2.25). Gametime is 6:05. Coverage begins at 5:35 on the WKXL Fisher Cats Radio Network.
