MANCHESTER, NH - The Manchester Monarchs, the primary affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, have moved the start time for the game on Education Day presented by Northeast Delta Dental on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. when they host the Portland Pirates at the Verizon Wireless Arena, Monarchs President Darren Abbott announced today.
The second annual Education Day will turn the Verizon Wireless Arena into the largest classroom in New Hampshire. Monarchs fans have donated over $6,000 worth of tickets for students in the Manchester area to attend the game. Children who attend the game will receive a Manchester Monarchs Education Day Booklet presented by Northeast Delta Dental that challenges students in school subjects such as math, geography, history, physical fitness, health and nutrition.
The Monarchs also announce that their game against the Pirates at the Cumberland County Civic Center on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. has been moved to Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at 6:30 p.m.
The Monarchs return home to the Verizon Wireless Arena to take on the Springfield Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 26, 2011. The Monarchs also host the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins for Canadian Heritage Night on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. The Monarchs will don a special Canadian-themed jersey for the occasion with the Monarchs Care Foundation auctioning off the unique jerseys during the game through a silent auction behind section 123 and post-game with a live auction on the ice. Traditional Canadian foods such as poutine and Montreal smoked meat will be served to fans who attend the game along with Labatt Blue and Molson Canadian. One of the Montreal Canadiens Public Address Announcers, Sebastien Goulet, will announce the game in both French and English.
