Tacoma Defiance (2-8-2, 8 points) continues its road stint on Thursday evening with a match at Portland Timbers 2 (2-11-0, 6 points) at Providence Park. This marks the fourth meeting of the season between the two sides, with Defiance earning a pair of wins in July and Timbers 2 securing its first win of the season over Tacoma on September 9. The Cascadia rivals meet for a fifth time this year on Sunday, September 27 (1:30 p.m. PT / ESPN+) in the first match at Cheney Stadium since July 18.

Defiance snapped its six-match losing skid on Sunday evening after a back-and-forth 3-3 draw with Sacramento Republic at Papa Murphy's Park. Chino Pérez, Alec Díaz and Ray Serrano all scored for Tacoma, who earned a point at Sacramento for the second time this season.
