Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC News Release
PITTSBURGH - Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC (10-3-1) returns to Highmark Stadium for a match against Hartford Athletic (8-3-2) on Saturday, Sept. 26. The match is set to kick off at 7 p.m. and will be locally televised on 22 The Point.
With a win on Saturday, the Hounds can clinch the top spot in Group F, guaranteeing at least one home game in the playoffs. This was made possible after Philadelphia Union II tied Hartford, 1-1, on Wednesday. The Hounds could also finish with the most points in the Eastern Conference if they would win their final two matches.
This will be the third match between the two teams this season. They first met on Aug. 28 at Dillon Stadium, when the Hounds earned a 3-0 victory to claim their spot atop the group. The Hounds clinched their third straight playoff berth after defeating Hartford, 5-0, on Sept. 12.
In the Hounds' last matchup, they defeated Loudoun United FC, 1-0, on Sept. 19 at Segra Field. A late goal from Albert Dikwa (81') provided all the difference, as the Hounds earned their fifth straight clean sheet in the win. Hartford tied Philadelphia, 1-1, in its most recent match on Wednesday.
