Welcome to 2022, Blade City!

The Saskatoon Blades are back to ring in the New Year, taking on one of the top teams in the WHL, the Edmonton Oil Kings.

We're thrilled to team up with 96.3 Cruz FM in what's sure to be a memorable night at SaskTel Centre.

As we say goodbye to 2021, we're also reliving some of our fondest moments over the course of the 1970's, 1980's, and 1990's!

Study up ahead of some fun trivia, take a look at some amazing throwback photos, and also enjoy a night out at the rink with your favourite team.

We're also offering caesars on special for just $6.75!

Tonight

This is the third of six meetings between the two squads, with each team earning victories in their own arenas previously.

Saskatoon comes into the contest winning two of the last three, and earning five of a possible six points since beginning the second half.

Both of Saskatoon's wins have come against the Prince Albert Raiders this week, with their only loss coming in shootout fashion to the Red Deer Rebels on Thursday.

This is the fourth game in six nights for the Blades. Following this contest, the boys in blue & gold will enjoy six days between games before taking on the Regina Pats in a home-and-home series next weekend.

Who to Watch

Draft-eligible forward Brandon Lisowsky tore apart the Prince Albert defence, netting his second hat-trick of the season on Thursday night. The Port Coquitlam, BC product is up to 19 tallies on the season, placing him tied for first on the team with alternate captain Kyle Crnkovic, and just four back of the league lead. The 2004-born winger leads all NHL Draft-eligible players in the league in goals.

Forward Jayden Wiens is coming off a three-point night against Prince Albert, netting his ninth goal of the campaign and adding two helpers. The Carrot River, SK native is working on a three-game point-streak, finding the scoresheet six times.
