Tonight - The Saskatoon Blades open a home & home series with the Brandon Wheat Kings. It's game 7 of the 8-game season series, the Wheat Kings lead 4-2. The Blades are fighting to get back into a playoff spot trailing Prince Albert by 5 points, while the Wheaties are trying to chase Regina for 3rd place in the division while fending off the red-hot PA Raiders.
The opponent - The Wheat Kings seemed to have shaken their post trade deadline woes and are back on the right track. Brandon will look for their 3rd straight win tonight and they come in after defeating the Swift Current Broncos 6-3 last night at home. Brandon is currently just 3 points behind Regina and 4 ahead of Prince Albert in the Eastern Conference standings.
For Saskatoon - The Blades currently sit 5 points behind Prince Albert for the final wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference. Each team has 5 games left including a home & home series with each other to finish the season. The other 3 games for Saskatoon are vs BDN x2, SC. PA's other 3 are vs MJ, REG, CGY. Not only is tonight a must win, the Blades will have to hope for Prince Albert to lose tonight as they host Calgary.
