Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans (16-11-1-0) host the Missouri Mavericks (22-3-0-1) tonight in the Boxing Day Spectacular. Puck drop this evening from Allen Event Center is 7:05 pm.
The Allen Americans begin the post Christmas run tonight with a matchup against the best team, record wise in the ECHL, the Missouri Mavericks, who lead the second place Americans by 12 points in the Central Division.
"This is a great test for us," said Americans defenseman Aaron Gens. "Missouri has been the top team for the first twenty plus games of the season and everyone else is trying to get where they are. We have the talent and leadership in this room to get there."
The Mavericks have been winning with hard work and solid goaltending. Missouri has allowed just 46 goals in twenty six games, compared to 83 by the Americans in 28 games. The Mavericks have scored 89 goals this season compared to 84 by the Americans in two more games.
Chad Costello leads the ECHL with 38 points, 11 goals and 27 assists. Costello is on pace for a 90+ point season. The forward had his six-game point streak snapped last Monday night against Tulsa. Rookie defenseman Erick Roy is second on the team in points with 19 and leads all rookie defenseman in points.

In the House Tonight - Madi Davis, fresh off of her appearance on the NBC TV Show The Voice, will be back in the AEC tonight to sing the National Anthem. Madi will join Tommy Daniels during the first intermission to talk about her amazing year.
