Portland did a lot of things well in its two wins this weekend. Offense kicked into gear, scoring nine goals in the two road games and sensational Seth Jarvis became the third WHL player to reach 40 goals this season after recording a hat trick on Saturday night. Team historian Andy Kemper dropped some knowledge on Jarvis' impressive season:

With his hat trick tonight, @jarvy44 becomes the 9th 17 year old player to reach 40 games for @pdxwinterhawks :

Now the Hawks need to solve the riddle that is the Silvertips. Everett has won the last three head-to-head meetings, including a 6-2 victory at the Memorial Coliseum a week ago. It was the Hawks largest margin of defeat this year. Everett enters the night on a nine-game winning streak and they have the league's hottest goalie in February. Dustin Wolf led all WHL netminders with nine wins, a 1.41 goals-against average and a .939 save percentage.

During the 'Tips nine game heater, they are 34 percent on the power play (11/38). Jake Christian and Wyatte Wylie have been a big reason for that success, finishing first and second, respectively, on the team in points during the month. Bryce Kindopp sits second all-time on the Silvertips scoring list with 108 goals and nine games remaining to try and pass Patrick Bajkov's record of 112.

Portland will be without two of their top four producers against the Silvertips as Johnny Ludvig and Reece Newkirk will miss the weekend finale. Affiliate player and defenseman Christian Riemer made his Portland debut last night in Seattle. Portland had that next man up mentality last night and 12 different Hawks found the stat sheet. Lane Gilliss came up big with a game-winning goal on the power play and his first multi-point game since January 4.

Tonight is the second to last meeting between these two teams in the regular season, so the two points on the line tonight are that much more important.

Milestone Watch: Winterhawks Head Coach, General Manager and Vice President Mike Johnston is now four wins away from 400 in his Portland career.

Magic Number: The Hawks are inching closer to clinching home ice in the 2020 WHL Playoffs. As one of three U.S. Division teams to already clinch a spot in the postseason, the Hawks magic number is set at five points to guarantee a top two finish in the division and home ice advantage for the opening round of playoffs.
