TIGERS FAST FACTS:

Trevor Cox was the first WHLer to reach the 100 point plateau but currently is tied for the league lead in points with Brandon's Tim McGauley and 1 point up on Portland's Oliver Bjorkstrand
Ice goaltender Wyatt Hoflin is the WHL's busiest goaltender, starting in 62 games this season
Medicine Hat has had the 3rd most power play opportunities in the WHL with 300, Kelowna is first with 320, followed by Prince George with 304
LAST GAME: The Tigers faced off against Kootenay last Saturday in a spirited affair by both teams. The Tigers dominated the entire game, not giving the Ice any chances on goaltender Marek Langhamer. Langhamer was strong when he needed to be however, stopping only 16 saves for a shutout. Cole Sanford got the only goal in the game in the first period, assisted by Trevor Cox, which on the play netted the 19 year old his 100th point on the season. Medicine Hat outshot the Ice 32-16 despite an hour delay in that game time due to the Kootenay bus breaking down on their way to the Hat.
CHASING THE CENTRAL: The Medicine Hat Tigers are in a dog fight for the Central Division title, with 6 games remaining on the schedule and once having a 17 point lead now find them in a 3 team race to raise the banner next season. The Calgary Hitmen have been hot on the Tigers tails since they have won 15 of 17 games and completed a 2 week road trip. The Hitmen closed the gap last month while the Tigers were struggling. Red Deer has been sitting in 3rd in the Central for the entire season and now with their winning streak and good play as of late, are only 2 points back of both Calgary and Medicine Hat. Every game will be treated like a playoff game down the stretch. Â
