Gamblers Cap off Season with Win

The Green Bay Gamblers (23-34-3-2) finished their season with a 4-2 win over the Madison Capitols (30-29-3) Saturday night at the Resch Center.

The teddy bears went flying on the ice in the first period with an Owen Murray (6) goal. After John Mittelstadt (12) added his own score late, the period would end with the Gamblers on top 2-0. After a Madison score early in the second, Green Bay took control, adding two more scores from Matt Deboer (15) and Luke Weilandt (8), giving a 4-2 lead for the Gamblers. With a Madison score being the only goal in the third, the game would come to an end in a 4-2 win.

Offensively, the Gamblers received one goal each from Owen Murray, Matt Deboer, Luke Weilandt, and John Mittelstadt. For playmakers, the Gamblers received two assists each from Kent Anderson (26) and Sawyer Scholl (15), along with one assist each from Deboer (17) and Peter Kramer (6). In net, goalie Aaron Randazzo played all 60 minutes, saving 25 of 27 shots, allowing two goals.
