ATLANTA, GA – Goaltender Scott Fankhouser, who appeared in three games with the East Coast Hockey League's Greenville Grrrowl earlier this season, has been recalled by the National Hockey League's Atlanta Thrashers. This is the second time Fankhouser has played for the Grrrowl and advanced to the NHL in the same season. He also accomplished the feat as a rookie during the 1999-2000 season.

Fankhouser was recalled by Atlanta from the American Hockey League's Hershey Bears where he was 3-2-1 with a 2.13 goals against average and .926 save percentage. He was also 1-0-1 with a 1.92 goals against average and .944 save percentage with the AHL's Chicago Wolves before being assigned to the Grrrowl in November. Fankhouser was 1-2 with a 3.67 goals against average and .919 save percentage with the Grrrowl including a franchise-record 52-save effort in a 2-1 road win versus the Columbia Inferno November 2nd.

The Grrrowl are currently in first place in the ECHL's Southeast Division with 82 points and a 38-22-6 record. They have six regular-season games remaining including two this weekend. The Grrrowl will host the Augusta Lynx tomorrow at 7:05 p.m. and visit the Charlotte Checkers Sunday at 6 p.m.

The first one-thousand fans who enter Saturday's game will receive a free puck courtesy of Bell South, the Real Yellow Pages, WMYI-FM 102.5 and Charter Communications. In addition, if the Grrrowl beat Augusta, fans can redeem their ticket stub from the game at the BI-LO Center box office for a ticket of equal or lesser value to the Tuesday March 26th showdown with the second-place Pee Dee Pride.
