Trenton Devils News Release

Trenton, NJ – Dan Carney's sixth goal of the season at 7:33 of the first period began a stretch of five goals in just under six minutes as the Trenton Titans (43-15-10) blanked the Roanoke Express (34-24-10) by a score of 5-0 last night at the Sovereign Bank Arena.

Carney deflected Steve O'Brien's shot past Express goaltender Jordan Willis to give the Titans a 1-0. Marco Charpentier scored his 20th of the season just 1:15 later to make it a 2-0 lead. Exactly three-and-a-half minutes later, Scott Bertoli netted his career best 22nd goal of the season chasing Willis from the game and staking the Titans to a 3-0 lead. Daniel Berthiaume replaced Willis and was promptly greeted by Mark Parillo's first professional goal just 67 seconds later for a 4-0 cushion. On the ensuing face-off, Matt Zultek finished off a rush with his 14th goal of the season to finish the scoring. David St. Germain registered his first professional shutout stopping all 20 shots he faced, while Scott Bertoli, Marco Charpentier and Matt Zutlek all finished with a goal and two assists on the night. Bertoli now has 66 points, which is a new Titans' franchise record for most points in a season.

The Titans host the Express again tonight at 7 pm. It's "Old Time Night" with the Hanson Brothers from the movie "Slap Shot".
