Mobile Mysticks News Release

The Mobile Mysticks dropped their second straight contest against a Southeastern Division foe as they were shutout 2-0 by the Macon Whoopee at the Mobile Civic Center.

Macon jumped out to a 1-0 lead as Aniket Dhadphale opened the scoring on the power play as he was able to poke a loose puck sitting in the slot past Greg Hewitt at the 13:48 mark of the first period. David Brosseau and Case Kesselring added the assists on the power play goal.

The Mysticks outshot the Whoopee 18-11 in the second period but could not push one past Evan Lindsey as the period ended as it began. Jason Stewart iced the contest with an empty net goal late in the third period as the Mysticks pulled Hewitt in favor of an extra attacker. Milt Mastad and Casey Kesselring added the assists on the empty net goal with just 11 seconds left.

The Mysticks outshot the Whoopee 48-28, but the special teams were the difference as Mobile could not score on the power play as they have been held scoreless on the man advantage in their last four contests.

The Mysticks travel to Jackson to battle the Bandits on Saturday, are in New Orleans next Wednesday and at Arkansas next Friday before returning home to host Pensacola March 30th before closing out the season on March 31st at home against Arkansas.
