
G-Reds Swept in Johnson City

JOHNSON CITY, TN - The Greeneville Reds (16-22) lost 6-2 Sunday evening at TVA Credit Union Ballpark to the Johnson City Cardinals (21-17). Cristian Olivo recorded his second three hit game in the loss.
After RHP Juan Abril (L, 1-4) recorded the first out in the second, Kyle Skeels reached on an error. Zach Jackson singled, and Kevin Vargas was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Skeels and Jackson both scored on Diomedes Del Rio's two-run single to put the Cardinals on the board. Vargas and Del Rio both scored on Raffy Ozuna's two-run double. Ozuna moved to third on Malcom Nunez's infield single. Nunez then scored the fifth run on an errant pick off attempt.
Olivo led off the fourth with a single, moved to second on a ground out, and scored on Danny Lantigua's RBI-single. The Cardinals got the run back on Trejyn Fletcher's RBI-single in the bottom half.
The Reds rounded out the scoring in the fifth. Peterson Plaz singled to open the fifth, went first to third on Ranser Amador's single, and scored on Raul Juarez's RBI-single.
RHP Jose Moreno (W, 3-3) earned the win. Moreno allowed two runs on nine hits and a walk in five innings. Abril took the loss, he struck out one and allowed five runs (three earned) on four hits.
The Reds are off Monday and begin a three game series at Boyce Cox Field in Bristol on Tuesday. RHP Graham Ashcraft (2-2, 5.88) will start the opener with first pitch coming at 6:30 PM.
